WORLD FOOTBALL MOURNS AS PELE PASSES AWAY
The football industry has been thrown into a state of grief after the passing of PELE as announced by his agent Joe Fraga.
Pele, who is officially known as Edison Arantes De Nacimento died at age 82. The sad event occurred in the Central Hospital of Brazilian capital Sao Paulo.
The three times World Cup Winner had been battling cancer of the large intestines from 2021. He had been put on oxygen support for a couple of weeks.
Pele was also pictured in a wheel chair after he collapsed during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He never saw full health afterwards and had been in and out of the hospital for several times.
He is tagged by most football fans as the greatest of all time in the famous game. Pele scored 77 goals in 92 games for Brazil. The Legend won the 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cups with Brazil.
The recent win by Argentina led by Lionel Messi at the 2022 FIFA World Cup raised another debate in the football world as to who is the greatest.
Prior to Messi, there was a big debate with his comparison to late Argentine Legend Diego Amando Maradona.
