FABIAN SCHAR thought he had scored the goal of the game to rescue a point for Newcastle at Wolves.

But then Harvey Barnes picked out the top corner with an absolute beauty to snatch all three.

Wolves’ own finish was a gorgeous move, finished by Mario Lemina following Joao Gomes’ sublime dummy.

But the Toon came roaring back late on.

Schar’s strike from distance got the Magpies level on 75 minutes.

And five minutes later, Barnes struck gold by arrowing beyond Sam Johnstone.

Wolves nearly grabbed an injury-time equaliser but Matheus Cunha’s volley was turned away by a flying Nick Pope – in between two half-hearted penalty appeals for the home side.
