WILLIE MULLINS couldn’t stop smiling after unleashing an ‘absolute beast’ of a horse on debut.
Future Prospect looked a real handful for Patrick Mullins but she showed a rapid turn of foot to land a Fairyhouse bumper by nine lengths.

And the future does indeed look very, very bright for this four-year-old filly who cost her owners £150,000.
Mullins was clearly impressed with what he saw and couldn’t hide his excitement in an interview with Racing TV.
Reflecting on Future Prospect’s first run under rules, he said: “I hadn’t asked her much, what she did was on raw ability.
“She was in a bit later than the other horses, she was only doing nice little bits and then the race just came up and we ran.
“I was as delighted and surprised as anyone.
“Patrick (Mullins, jockey) might have given her a squeeze one day, he might have known more than I did!
“She had worked nicely at the Curragh on one day away but I just thought she hadn’t enough done.
“She didn’t want to turn the first bend and Patrick was fighting her the whole way, so to produce what she produced at the end of it looks top drawer stuff.”
Future Prospect was immediately made 10-1 second-favourite for the Champion Bumper on the back of her showing.
Gordon Elliott has the general 7-1 market leader Kalypso’chance for that race – who was also ridden by Patrick on his most recent win at Navan last weekend.
And for all Future Prospect did, Patrick reckons it’s actually Kalypso’chance who rates the best… if you believe him.
After the former’s win he said: “He sets the standard in the bumper field at the moment and I’d love to ride him again.”
Punters weren’t so sure, though.
One said Future Prospect rated an ‘absolute beast’ on debut while another added: “Oh hello. Future Prospect has a future, that’s for sure.”
