Why did Amanda Serrano NOT fight on Jake Paul card?
AMANDA SERRANO fans were left devastated when the star was forced to pull out of a highly-anticipated fight just minutes before it was supposed to start.
The boxer, who became the first fighter signed to Jake Paul‘s Most Valuable Promotions in 2021, was due to take on Nina Meinke in her home of Puerto Rico on Saturday March 2.

Why did Amanda Serrano NOT fight on Jake Paul card?
According to USA Today Serrano was ruled out of the Meinke fight due to an eye injury caused by a chemical used while she was at a hair appointment.
The announcement that the fight had been cancelled was made just minutes before it was due to take place at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.

Boxer and social media star Paul broke the news to the crowd from inside the ring at the indoor arena.
He said that the £1.1million that had been generated by sales for the bout would be refunded to customers.
Paul was on the same card as Serrano and had defeated Ryan Bourland shortly before.
Serrano stood nearby while Paul addressed the audience and was seen crying as she made her way out of the venue.
Nakisa Bidarian, Paul’s business partner, later revealed more details about the reason why Serrano had to drop out.
Speaking at a press conference he said: “What happened there was on Thursday night Amanda Serrano had her hair done.
“On Friday, while going for a run, a chemical went into her eye.
“That is why at the weigh-in (Friday) she was wearing glasses, we were trying to determine what happened.”
Bidarian added that Serrano sought medical advice on Friday evening and that she and her team had tried to get her eye “to a place where she was comfortable fighting” throughout Saturday.
The business man, who is the co-founder of he and Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, said: “She came to the arena to fight and when the commission’s medical doctors examined her, they said she was unfit to fight.
“The commission would not allow her to enter the ring and do what she wanted to do most, which was fight in front of her fans on this island.”
Serrano later took to social media to address her fans and promised those who had paid for a ticket a refund.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, she posted: “To understand how bad I feel for what happened Myself & my team @jakepaul & @MostVpromotions are giving my opponent @ninathebrave 100% of her purse when the commission requires 50% & to my beautiful Island Every single person will get a full money return.
“We are grateful & appreciative to everyone that showed up. I broke records in attendance and sales and that is more than a simple woman can ask for.
“Thank you a million times Puerto Rico, this is why I brag and represent you always.”

Serrano is a professional boxer, wrestler and mixed martial artist.
She was born on October 9, 1988, in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
Serrano was awarded the Female Boxer of the Year Award in 2016 and 2018.
Her older sister Cindy is also a professional boxer and in 2016 the pair became the first sisters to hold world titles from major sanctioning bodies at the same time.

Paul founded Most Valuable Productions in 2021 and the company hosted its first boxing event in May 2023.

Paul and Serrano have not taken on each other in the ring but Serrano is signed to the star’s promotional company.
Serrano first met Paul in 2020 when she was already a world champion in seven different divisions.
Since signing with Paul and Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions she has become a millionaire and household boxing name.
In March 2024 Serrano told SunSport that her nephews are huge fans of Paul.
She added that, despite her past success, they were unfazed by her career until she became associated with the star.
Serrano said: “I used to hear his blogs going on in the room or his ‘Everyday Bro’ and I’m like, ‘Who is Everyday Bro?’
“So I started watching the YouTube videos as well and that’s how I knew about Jake and Logan.
