Who is Lakiha Spicer?

Lakiha Spicer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 11, 1977,

She comes from an African-American Muslim family, with her father, Shamsud-Din Ali, being a prominent religious leader and boxing enthusiast.

Lakiha is an entrepreneur, author, business owner and the third wife of former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.

She operates a clothing boutique and co-wrote The Undisputed Truth, a show based on Mike’s life, which premiered in August 2012 and won two awards.

Meeting Mike

Lakiha, or Kiki as she’s known, met Mike in 1998 when she was 18 years old and Mike was 28.

Don King introduced the pair to each other after one of his fights.

But Mike’s then-promoter warned Kiki to stay away from the boxer.

The couple embarked an on-and-off relationship in the early 2000s while Mike was still married to his second wife Monica Turner.

Prison sentence

In 2008, Kiki was convicted for defrauding £60,000 from a company owned by her father.

She served a six-month prison sentence for fraud and conspiracy charges related to the money-laundering scheme.

Kiki went into prison pregnant with ‘Iron’ Mike‘s baby — she discovered she was with child a week before being sent down.

Addiction

She came out to find the former world heavyweight champ addicted to drugs.

Kiki managed to wean Mike off his addictions, however, something he credits her with.

“I’m very happy me and my wife got together, because I don’t know how I would have survived out there”, he told US magazine People.

They tied the knot on June 9, 2009, marking the beginning of Mike’s third marriage.

Kiki and the boxer are approaching their 15th wedding anniversary in 2024.

Kids

Kiki and Mike have two children together — a daughter called Milan, born in 2009, and a son named Morocco Elijah, born in 2011.

The 58-year-old also has other children with different women: Mikey Lorna, Rayna, Amir and Miguel.

He was previously married to Robin Givens and Monica Turner.

Impact

Kiki has played a crucial role in Mike’s personal growth and stability.

Their marriage has outlasted the heavyweight’s previous two, and he has credited his third wife with helping him turn his life around.

In 2020, Tyson told ExpediTIously: “Without my wife, I’m a savage animal…

“I look at women differently as I get older. When I was younger, I viewed them as pleasure.

“If I don’t have a wife, I’ll kill myself. That’s real talk.

“I need somebody to listen to. I’m a soldier. I can’t think on my own, I need somebody to do it… I know myself.”
