He made his professional fighting debut on May 24, 2003.

The American fighter made a winning start to his career, defeating Brandon Bledsoe, knocking him out in the latter stages of the first round.

Masvidal goes by the nickname “gamebred”.

It wasn’t until April 20, 2013, when he made his UFC debut.

Fighting on the preliminary card, he defeated Tim Means by decision after the end of the final round.
