Who is Damar Hamlin’s father Mario?

Hamlin’s father Mario and his mother Nina had Damar in March 1998 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.

The couple were just 16 when Nina gave birth to the now 24-year-old Buffalo Bills player.

They founded an office cleaning business together, while Nina also ran a daycare.

However, Mario also took to dealing drugs to make ends met and was jailed for three and a half years while Damar was still young.

What has Damar Hamlin said about his father?

Despite his father’s drug conviction, Damar has been vocal in his pride of both his parents.

In a 2022 interview he said: “It was us at first, just me and my mom and my dad, and they taught me hard work. They taught me you gotta work for everything you and basically they just taught me all of the lessons of life.

“I would just really give all that credit to my parents, that’s really like the biggest difference that I’ve seen in everyone’s lives that was around me growing up.

“Just that fact of having two parents in my life that were dedicated to me and all into me, every move from being little to growing up.”

Meanwhile, he posted a Father’s Day message to Mario on Instagram, with a collection of photos of them together.

In the caption, Damar wrote: “We weathered every storm from hell & back together as a family. Not ashamed of our story cause it made us who we are. 

“Happy Father’s Day pops. You taught me a lot in life but something that will always stick with me is making sacrifices for the people you love.

“Whatever it takes For The Family.”

How many children did Damar Hamlin’s parents have?

Mario and Nina have had two children.

In 1998, they welcomed Damar, while the NFL ace’s little brother Damir was born in 2015.

According to his social media profile, young Damir wants to be an American football player just like his big brother.
