SNOOKER is BACK once again and with more silverware on the line at the Welsh Open 2024.

Robert Milkins won last year’s event, beating Shaun Murphy 9-7 in the final as Ronnie O’Sullivan crashed out in the quarter-finals.

Llandudno is hosting once again, having done so for the first time in the competition’s history last year.

Is Ronnie O’Sullivan playing at the Welsh Open?

Ronnie O’Sullivan will NOT be in action at the Welsh Open next week.

The Essex star was scheduled to play Scot Liam Graham in a held-over pre-qualifying match on Monday, February 12th.

However, he announced on February 10th that he would not be able to play – as he opened up on his battle with anxiety.

A statement from O’Sullivan read: “Morning guys, I wanted to let you know that I’ve decided I’m not able to play in Llandudno next week.

“It’s hard to explain but for years I’ve suffered from stage fright at times, brought on by anxiety.

“It’s not something I can predict or control but I try to manage it as best as I can.

“I’m sorry to everyone who’s bought tickets but I just can’t get my cue out when I feel like this and I think this [is] what’s best for me right now.

“I still want to be around the tournament so I’ll be doing some work with Eurosport and I hope to see you all there.”
