West Ham target EFL wonderkid, 19, as they look to strengthen defensive options in January transfer window
WEST HAM have put Wigan centre-half Charlie Hughes, 19, on their list of targets.
Hammers sent scouts to watch the teenager in League One — but may need to move fast with Prem rivals also keen on Hughes.

Hughes spent time with Manchester City and Liverpool’s academies before joining Wigan in 2017.
He has since progressed through their youth ranks and made his senior debut last December.
So far this season, Hughes has made 10 appearances in League One, scoring twice.
The youngster has also captained Shaun Maloney’s side on two occasions.
West Ham’s interest comes after they tied down winger Jarrod Bowen to a new long-term deal.
The England international has reportedly agreed terms on a contract extension amid interest from other clubs.
Liverpool were understood to be a potential suitor as they eyed potential replacements for Mohamed Salah.
Bowen’s previous deal had been set to expire at the end of next season.
