The teenager is aiming to follow in his dad’s footsteps
The youngster, 14, likes to keep his enormous social media following updated with his exploits.
After a match over the weekend, Kai posted a snap of his Man Utd shirt on the dressing room floor after a match to his 174,000 Instagram followers.
He claimed to have scored twice and assisted a further pair in a 6-0 win over Leeds.
Kai added that the match had been his first back after “months out”.
This isn’t the first time that the teenager has gotten fans excited with his youth team exploits.
Last year he netted in a cup final win over rivals Manchester City.
And fans even likened his chest control technique to that of his legendary father, Man Utd and England’s all-time leading goalscorer, the following month.
Kai is the eldest of Rooney’s four sons; Klay, ten, Joseph, seven, and Cass, five.
The spitting image of dad Wayne, Kai was signed to model for Puma back in 2022, despite his old man having always been a Nike athlete.
Kai wears Puma boots on the pitch, while he featured in their back to school campaign last summer.
Confirming the news two years ago, he wrote on social media: “Happy to announce that I have officially signed a contract with Puma.
“Let’s hope for the best on this journey.”
