The club and Mourinho confirmed his appointment hours earlier on Sunday in a message that whipped up supporters for the frenzy to come.
The former Real Madrid manager, 61, said then in a video message: “Merhaba [Hello] Fenerbahce fans. See you at Kadikoy and let’s start our journey together.”
Mourinho jetted in to Turkey after starring as a pundit for TNT Sports during Real’s 2-0 Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund.
He has been out of the dugout since Roma sacked him in January.
The ex-Tottenham boss is understood to have agreed a contract with Fenerbahce until 2026, with an option for a further season.
And after he was introduced to the crowd, the club showed they know all about his iconic stints in the Premier League by unfurling a club shirt with “The Special One” for the Portuguese to show off to the cameras.
One viewer said of the welcome for Mourinho: “Only a legend can have this effect on a Sunday afternoon in Türkiye. Jose Mourinho is a movement and a way of life.”
Another posted: “The stadium is crazy!”

And a third wrote: “Next season is going to be fun.”
Mourinho, dressed casually in a blue shirt, strolled across the pitch surrounded by security staff.
Fans responded raucously to Mourinho
Onlookers craned in an attempt to take photos and get a closer glimpse of the former Porto and Benfica manager.
Mourinho then added a club scarf around his shoulders and often seemed stunned himself by the intensity of his greeting.
And after seeing the raucous reaction from fellow fans, one supporter posted gleefully: “This is just a beginning.”
Another claimed: “No coach in the world of football can create such passion.”
And amidst the pleas to Mourinho was this intriguing piece of transfer advice: “Bring Cristiano Ronaldo.”
