Watch former World Snooker champion rival O’Sullivan with historic 147 despite fans shouting and being in race vs clock
SHAUN MURPHY became the first player to hit a 147 in the quick-fire Snooker Shoot Out format on Thursday.
The Magician hit a historic maximum break in just seven minutes and 35 seconds to cruise past 16-year-old Bulcsu Revesz.

After breaking off, Revesz did not get to play another shot as Murphy set about clearing the table whilst also having to beat a clock counter.
The Essex-born snooker star refused to let the lively crowd get the better of him – despite one person shouting: “Don’t bottle it now!” at a crucial moment.
And he was serenaded with cheers and a huge round of applause when he potted the black.
Speaking to Eurosport after the match, Murphy said: “On the [final] blue a fella shouted out ‘don’t bottle it’. Goodness me, my heart’s going. It was great fun.
“I love the event and can’t believe what’s just happened. It was a real buzz. You get excited out there playing this event, win or lose.
“I’ve done both, played really nicely and really badly, but for the fans here, they’ve seen something special, it was a pleasure to play for them.”
He later told the World Snooker Tour channel: “I was trying to make the 147 from the very first shot.
“It was one of the best I have ever made. I am absolutely buzzing. Every ball I hit went in the middle of the pocket. I am gobsmacked.”
With his sensational 147, Murphy topped the previous best Shoot Out break of 142 which was set by Mark Allen.
Shoot Out matches are contested over one frame with a duration of 10 minutes.
Players are given 15 seconds to take a shot in the first five minutes, but it drops to 10 seconds in the final five.
Incredibly, Ronnie O’Sullivan still holds the record for the quickest maximum 147 break.
He achieved it in five minutes and eight seconds at the 1997 World Championship.
