With a white-hot atmosphere inside Goodison Park for Sean Dyche’s first game in charge, tensions boiled over during the closing stages.

Players from both teams were involved in an on-field melee after Oleksandr Zinchenko had clashed with Neal Maupay.

Gunners star Granit Xhaka was one of the first to get involved as he tried to act as peacemaker and defend his Ukrainian colleague.

That led to Everton goalie Pickford running over to remonstrate with Xhaka – and that’s when the hilarious moment occurred.

Arsenal ace Saka raced behind the keeper with the match ball in hand and bounced it lightly off the back of his head.

PIckford instantly spun around to see who it was, but upon discovering it was his England team-mate, he playfully just pushed Saka’s face away from his.

The moment initially went unnoticed, but soon a clip of it was shared on Twitter and fans absolutely loved it.

One tweeted: “Pickford realised who it was and didn’t even react cause he knew it’s all in good fun.”

Fortunately, Sake escaped without any punishment from the referee from the funny exchange.

However, Zinchenko and Maupay were not so lucky as they each received a yellow card.
