VIDEO: Asante Kotoko smash Karela United’s unbeaten home record in the GPL
Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko unended Karela United unbeaten record at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on matchday 13 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League following a 2-0 win on Sunday.The Ayinase-based outfit had not lost at their own backyard since they joined the top-flight division in 2017.Kotoko ended that run in style, which was masterminded by former Karela coach Johnson Smith.Imoro Ibrahim scored the first goal of the game to put the Porcupine Warriors in the lead.Imoro a former player of Karela United did not celebrate his goal out of his respect for the club.Kwame Opoku, who has been Kotoko’s most important player this season, doubled the lead on 61 minutes. The striker got to end off fine pass by Emmanuel Gyamfi and produced clinical low strike into the left bottom corner.Kotoko protected the two goals to claim a famous win.The defeat leaves Karela United in third.Watch Highlights of the game below:
