And now the Aston Villa fan revealed in front of a stadium of supporters that he will return once more on the historic UFC 300 card.

He then hopes to headline a UFC card at the 42,000-seat Villa Park – which would be the promotion’s first UK stadium show.

Edwards, 32, said: “I will defend my belt in April at UFC 300 in Vegas again, then hopefully in the summertime get a fight back home in Birmingham at Villa Park.

“I’m in talks with the UFC, so hopefully we can get it done.”

Edwards later visited Villa’s stars in their dressing room following the 3-2 win over Burnley.
