UFC drop biggest Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler fight hint yet amid rumours UFC 303 showdown may be OFF

THE UFC have dropped their biggest suggestion yet that Conor McGregor’s return WILL go ahead as planned.

Fears the long-awaited return Return of the Mac was on the rocks were rife last week following the short-notice cancellation of a pre-fight press conference in Dublin.

There were conspiracy theories aplenty after the UFC 303 presser was axed, with unsubstantiated claims McGregor had suffered an injury spreading like wildfire.

The UFC have yet to comment on the status of the fight, although a recent social media post from MMA‘s top promotion suggests that it’s business as usual.

Early on Sunday morning, the UFC shared a gripping trailer to promote their latest pay-per-view card on their X and Instagram pages.

And there was seemingly a collective sigh of relief from fight fans after the release of the heart-racing promo.

One commented: “Just what I wanted to see.”

Another said: “UFC 303 IS F***ING BACK LETS GO.”

And another said: “It’s official now.”

One remarked: “Mystic Mac is back, baby.”

Another chimed in: “If you thought Conor was gonna pull out, you’re a new school casual fan.

“Guy has never pulled out once, and I don’t think he ever would.”

One relieved mixed martial arts fan commented along with a fire emoji: “It is not gonna be cancelled.”

And another said: “Surprise, surprise. The King is back!”

McGregor, 35, hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

The Irishman will be welcomed back to the cage by fellow fan favourite Michael Chandler on June 29 in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

And he plans to get back in the win column with an emphatic head-kick KO of the former three-time Bellator lightweight champ.

In a recent interview with James Corden, he said: “I am Terminator now.

“I have a titanium rod that goes into the knee and down to the bone, right down to my ankle.

“It’s unbreakable.

“I wish for and I will work on landing this kick – with this steel bar in my leg – against an opponent and getting them out of there.”
