Three Arsenal stars turn up to trials as forgotten Gunners star launches own club and fans praise their ‘passion’

THREE ARSENAL stars showed their support for a forgotten team-mate as he launched his new football club.

And supporters hailed their “passion” as shots of them attending trials for the newly-formed outfit spread online.

Midfielder Mohamed Elneny, 31, has only made one appearance for the Gunners this term, which came in the Carabao Cup win at Brentford on September 27.

The Egyptian then announced this month that he had launched Elneny FC, a new team that he has created to give a chance to those players that have fallen through the net with other teams.

He organised a number of try-outs across North London and Essex to try and find players for the outfit.

And he is planning to hold training and friendly matches for the rest of the season before they enter the football pyramid next season.

One of those trial sessions took place this week, with the club’s official Twitter account revealing that three other Arsenal stars were also in attendance as part of the “scouting department”.

Portuguese full-back Cedric Soares, 32, Italian international midfielder Jorginho, 31, and Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli, 22, were the trio in attendance.

Elneny responded to a snap of them watching the action on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a post that read: “Thank you my brothers for coming over.”

And Gooners soon joined him in commenting, with one writing: “Well done guys on supporting El Neny on his aspiritations , team work makes dream work.”

“Love that support,” wrote a fellow fan.

While another described it as “family” while a fellow supporter said: “Imagine being a youngster and knowing that those guys are looking after you, especially Martinelli who is closer to ages with them, has an amazing story, and isn’t there for badges, just passion.”

Martinelli has been named in Arsenal’s starting XI for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Jorginho and Elneny were named on the bench, while Soares was not part of the matchday squad.
