THE NUMBER THREE WILL BE THE WINNER AS MESSI AND MBAPPE FACE OFF IN 2022 WORLD CUP FINAL
The number three will be the winner of the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Argentina and France face off. Defending Champions France will take on South American Champions Argentina in Doha.
Both sides go into the clash with the sole aim of clinching the World Title for a third time. They have all won two tiles each.
Argentina won in 1978 and 1986 led by Jorge Valdano and Diego Maradona respectively. France won in 1998 and 2018 with Zinedine Zidane and Kylian Mbappe as the main men of affairs.
The two sides have also met three times at the FIFA World Cup. They met in their first ever World Cup in 1930. Argentina have won twice and lost one in the three meetings.
At the last FIFA World Cup in 2018, Argentina’s Le Albiceleste were eliminated by Les Blues of France in a 4-3 thriller at the knockout stage. But they had beaten France on their way to winning the trophy for the first time in 1978.
This time it will be either Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappe who would be crowned the winner as the PSG players become enemies on the turf. It will be the fourth meeting between the two club mates.
As the two marksmen face off in Doha, it will be a tail of two cities as they both enter their second finals. France goes in as defending champions as Lionel Messi also led Argentina to place second to Germany in 2014.
Mbappe has won two and drawn one of the three previous meetings between them. In the ongoing tournament, Messi has scored five goals for Argentina as Mbappe has also scored same number of goals for France.
The game which promises to be intriguing would also go beyond the two names on the lips of their fans. Alavaro Alvarez and Olivier Giroud who are both on four goals respectively would be the forces behind their respective talisman.
FIFA’s flagship tournament comes to a close on Sunday, December 18, 2022 in Qatar. The time for the kickoff is 15:00 GMT.
