Templegate’s Tote Placepot tips for Epsom Oaks day with £150,000 guaranteed, PLUS £30 in free bets

0

TEMPLEGATE returns to tackle the Tote Placepot at Epsom on Friday for Oaks day!

The Placepot is a bet where you select a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

Find The Sun’s betting publishing principles here

You can pick more than one horse in a race – you just multiply the number of selections in each race to calculate your stake. So for staking it’s 2x1x2x1x2x2 which adds up to 16 lines.

You can stake what you want upwards from 5p a line. 10p a line is £1.60 with our picks and so on.

Provided at least one in each race is placed, we get a payout!

Epsom Placepot tips for Friday

LEG 1: New Charter, Megalithic

NEW CHARTER was a cracking second on debut at Newmarket 13 days ago and can go one better. She travelled nicely and came off just second best to a potential star. She should have learned from that experience and Richard Hannon’s form has improved.

MEGALITHIC wasn’t asked too many questions when third on debut at Salisbury. He handled the soft ground and will prefer this extra furlong. He’s a contender for in-form Ralph Beckett.

LEG 2: Bopedro, Dancing Magic

BOPEDRO was a little unlucky not to score in a red-hot contest at York earlier this month. He had to weave his way through the field and finished strongly into third with the line coming too soon. He’ll need a little luck but the slightly longer trip will help and he has dropped below his last winning mark. He looks a big price.

DANCING MAGIC likes to be up with the pace and was just pipped at Chester last time. The handicapper has raised him just a pound for that excellent effort and trainer Roger Teal is in good nick.

LEG 3: Emily Upjohn

EMILY UPJOHN can make the most of her fillies’ allowance and follow up last year’s win in this hot contest. She showed a real liking for this tricky track and the trip when beating an arguably stronger field 12 months ago. It’s a big chance for Kieran Shoemark to strike at Group 1 level and she doesn’t mind some give in the ground.

LEG 4: Bolster, City Streak

BOLSTER was impressive when scoring in testing conditions at Pontefract on comeback last month. He went from the front there and kept digging deep to score with something up his sleeve on debut for Karl Burke. The handicapper has been fair with a 5lb rise in the weights and there’s more to come after just five starts.

CITY STREAK enjoyed himself when winning at Chester earlier this month, getting up right on the lollipop. He is best over this distance and a 3lb rise in the weights looks more than fair.

LEG 5: Ezeliya, Ylang Ylang

EZELIYA showed promise last year and took a big step forward when winning the Group 3 Salsabil at Navan last month. She is bred to relish this trip and Dermot Weld doesn’t send them over for a day out. There’s more to come.

YLANG YLANG ended last season winning the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile and was beaten less than a length in the 1,000 Guineas on comeback when finishing strongly. This Frankel filly shapes like a stayer and has a big chance for Aidan O’Brien.

LEG 6: Balmacara, Pandora’s Gift

BALMACARA has been in flying form this season with back-to-back wins at Doncaster over this distance. There was some cut in the ground each time and he looks capable of improvement.

PANDORA’S GIFT has been flying on the all-weather with four wins in a row. She has been kept to six furlongs so far but hit the line strongly when scoring in Listed company at Chelmsford last time. She has plenty of quality and will be a danger if translating her form to turf.
