Team GB win FOURTH Olympic gold medal as men storm to 4x200m freestyle victory to defend title in historic performance
TEAM GB have won their first swimming gold at the Paris Olympics in the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.
The quartet of James Guy, Matt Richards, Duncan Scott and Tom Dean retained their title winning the final in a time of six minutes 59.43 seconds.

Great Britain were favourites going into the race having qualified fastest and they produced the goods in the final.
Earlier today the men’s reserve team which consisted of Guy, Dean, Jack McMillan from Northern Ireland and Wales’ Kieran Bird set a time of seven minutes and 5.11 seconds.
In Tokyo 2020 the same team won the event in six minutes and 58.58 seconds.
And tonight it was James Guy, who put Britain into pole position with his strong first leg, which then saw Scott bring the team home.
This marks Team GB‘s fourth gold medal at Paris 2024 after Nathan Hales secured a win in the men’s trap shooting final.
