Not only has he been identified as a player that won’t be sold, but it is understood Ratcliffe sees him as a player to build United around.

TalkSPORT report that United are to reject any interest from Real Madrid, who were rumoured to be readying an £86million bid for the Argentine.

But Ratcliffe sees the young winger, 19, as essential to the future of the club.

United chiefs have been impressed with the winger’s attitude around the training ground as he continues to step up to being a senior player for United.

It comes after Bruno Fernandes publicly questioned Garnacho’s attitude when he first broke into the United team.

Ratcliffe sees Garnacho as a mainstay alongside breakout star Kobbie Mainoo, 18, who makes his full England debut against Belgium tonight.

United’s new ownership are planning a major overhaul of the squad this summer, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood looking almost certain to leave.

A further seven stars will be playing for their futures as the season draw to a close, with the likes of Harry Maguire attracting interest from West Ham.
