With a place in the semi-finals at The Crucible up for grabs, Maguire was left frustrated by his performance.
Trailing 10-5, the Glaswegian found himself in a tough spot.
Following a disappointing shot, “On Fire” let his negative emotions show.
Even prior to the shot, Eurosport commentator Dominic Dale said: “He just can’t disguise his annoyance, his anger.”
As he walked back to his chair after the shot, Maguire took his frustration out on the table – which made a loud thud as he cannoned his fist into it.
Dale continued: “Ouch! Goodness gracious me that must have hurt.”
Posting a video of the incident, one snooker fan wrote: “Maguire’s not happy again…”
A second responded: “He also smacked his cue twice tonight.”

But a fifth countered: “He is a really nice friendly chap when you meet him.”
The winner of Maguire’s clash with Gilbert will face either Kyren Wilson or John Higgins in the last four.
While on the other side of the bracket Judd Trump’s conqueror Jak Jones will take on Stuart Bingham or Ronnie O’Sullivan.
