It is assumed the supporter in question was a Newcastle fan
Cole Palmer, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane scored the goals… but some eagle-eyed fans were more interested by a moment in the crowd.
As Kieran Trippier prepared to take an England throw, a fan behind him could be seen wiping his bum with a Three Lions flag that read “Sunderland” on it.
It is assumed, given the match was played at the home stadium of the Black Cats’ rivals Newcastle, that the supporter was a Toon fan.
And the reaction to the clip on social media produced a mixed response.
One said: “Embarrassing behaviour tbh.”
Another added: “Might not be so funny for him when he gets a football banning order. At least he’ll be a hero down his local pub with his mates next season!”
A third replied: “An international friendly at a neutral venue by the way. Wiping his a**e on the flag of the country he’s there to support. Wonder if they’d do this during a tournament game .”
While a fourth responded: “Spotted him from the East Stand. He then returned to his seat… half way up the Gallowgate .”

England now prepare to return to Wembley where they will face Iceland in their final game before the Euros.
Southgate’s side then begin their European Championship campaign when they take on Serbia on June 16, before their other group games against Denmark and Slovenia.
