Russia could be allowed to play international football again as Fifa ‘considers lifting blanket ban’
FIFA are looking to lift their ban on Russia and let them play international football again.
The decision is being discussed at a council meeting taking place today.

However, it will not lead to a full return for Russia with just their Under-17 team’s appearances being discussed.
There has been a blanket ban on the country and teams from the nation competing on the international stage since they invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
But they could now reportedly be allowed to play without their kit, flag or anthem.
Uefa lifted their blanket ban on Russia and look set to let the Under-17s compete in Euros qualifying.
Europe’s governing body supposedly cites athletes in other sports playing as neutral competitors.
Teams secure their spots at the Fifa Under-17 World Cup based on their performances in the continental Uefa matches.
