Rumours confirmed as Otto Addo confirms World Cup Squad

Coach Otto Addo has confirmed his twenty-six-man squad to represent Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Kotoko’s Danlad Ibrahim and Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Afriyie Barnieh have been named in the team by Otto Addo.

Danlad was given a last-minute call up as a result of injuries. Goalkeepers Jojo Walacot and Richard Ofori have been left out due to injuries sustained recently. Young striker Afena Gyan also misses out after helping the country in the qualifying games.

Also missing out is Jeffery Schulp of Crystal Palace. It was reported that Jeffery’s agent sent strong message to the Executives of the Ghana Football Association after learning of their client’s drop.

Winger Joseph Paintsil is also another notable absentee.

Meanwhile, Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams and Mohammed Salisu have been confirmed in the list. The players have had some controversies surrounding their play for the Black Stars. They made theselves available in Ghana’s friendlies against Nicaragua and Brazil recently.

Daniel Odoi was also given the green light to be part of the squad to Qatar.
