O’Sullivan was eliminated from the world championships on Wednesday nightPA
It means he will have to wait at least another 12 months for a record eighth Crucible title.
But O’Sullivan shook off the defeat in less than 24 hours and was back on screen as a pundit for the semi-final action on Thursday.
Yet Eurosport viewers could not look past his choice of outfit.
The seven-time champion wore a burnt orange short-sleeve shirt and necklace – a look that some on social media were not a fan of.
One person said: “Love you @ronnieo147 but that ‘pebble like’ necklace is absolutely disgusting .”
While another added: “Does he own another shirt? And what’s that thing around his neck? ”
Meanwhile, O’Sullivan gave an honest reaction to being eliminated from the world championships.
He said: “It was a good tournament. I felt I cued better this tournament than I have for two years so that’s a real plus for going forward.

“Obviously not the victory I would have wanted but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.
“You just have to suck it all up and move onto the next one and get ready.”
O’Sullivan was attempting to win all three Triple Crown events in one season for the first time in his career – having already claimed the UK Championship and Masters.
But it was not to be for O’Sullivan – who also raised eyebrows when he became embroiled in a row with the referee during the match.
