Social media star Caz Milligan will be in the red corner
The former footballer will step between the ropes at the OVO Hydro for a bout against social media star Caz Milligan in August.
Tickets are already on sale for the fight priced £47 each.
The Gers striker‘s post-Ibrox career has taken various twists since he left the Gers.
He scored the winning penalty to send Rangers to Manchester and the 2008 Uefa Cup Final.
But after hitting 71 goals in 255 appearances, Novo moved on to Sporting Gijon in his native Spain and had spells in Poland, Northern Ireland, USA and back in Scotland with Morton.
He also opened a bar in Paisley Road west and became a coach with Lexinton SC in Kentucky.
In 2018 he suffered a suspected heart attack while playing for Rangers veterans in a tournament in germany.
He also revealed he’d suffered a stroke months after his health scare.
He’ll come up against social media star Caz Milligan – who boasts more than 113,000 followers on TikTok.
He has a background in boxing – much like social media star turned fighting brothers Jake and Logan Paul.
Milligan used his platform to promote the fight and squared up to Novo outside his old stomping ground at Ibrox as tickets went on sale this morning.
Briefs begin at £47 rising up to £250 including fees for the fight.
Milligan said: “Twenty years ago Novo was my highest goalscorer on FIFA.
Novo said: “Twenty years ago I used to score goals for Rangers. Now I’m fighting my biggest fan.
“What I have been passed through, I’ve had lots of probelms in my life – health problems.
“Whatever happens in life you can push through yourself and try to do whatever you want to do.
“I’m excited for this event and hope everybody can come and support me and enjoy.”
Milligan went on: “We’ve put together the most insane card with Caz Milligan v Nacho Novo as the main event.
“I’m doing this for the kids who want to dream.
I used to be a kid with Novo number 10 printed on my back. Now I’m going to have the referee counting to ten with Nacho Novo on his back.”
