Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe latest confirmed runners and riders for £4.3million race live on ITV1

SOSIE headlines a field of 18 superstar runners for Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

But the three-year-old colt won’t have it all his own way in the battle for the whopping £2.5million winning prize.

Here are the latest runners after Monday’s confirmation stage.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe confirmed runners

Sosie 4-1

Trained by the French legend and 31-time champion trainer over the pond, Andre Fabre’s shot is three from three at the track, most recently in the Group 2 Prix Niel. But if anyone knows how to win this race, it’s Fabre, who has already won it EIGHT times.

Shin Emperor 5-1

This Emperor has the hope of a nation resting on his back. He finished only a length behind the mighty Economics in the Irish Champion Stakes. But whether he’ll handle the likely softer ground is an unknown, and he’s yet to win at the highest level.

Look De Vega 6-1

Look out for Carlos and Yann Lerners’ monster, who won the Prix de Jockey earlier this season and has already beaten Shin Emperor, although over a shorter distance. Most recently, he was third in the Prix Niel to favourite Sosie over the same track, but there’s every chance he’s come on for the run.

Los Angeles 6-1

The first of the Ballydoyle juggernaught won the Irish Derby over this distance and was third in the Epsom Derby. Back up in trip and able to handle any ground, he looks a more than solid contender.

Delius 10-1

The Coolmore-owned and Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt is by the mighty Frankel and certainly looks the part on paper. He was a fast-finishing second behind Sosie last time out.

Al Riffa 12-1

Joseph O’Brien’s four-year-old has Al the class having finished a close enough second behind City of Troy in the Eclipse at Sandown. He goes into it in top form having won a Group 1 claimed by previous Arc winners Alpinista and Torquator Tasso last time out.

Aventure 14-1

One of the few fillies in the race. She finished behind Juddmonte’s brilliant Bluestocking at Longchamp last time out and should not be written off.

Auguste Rodin 16-1

O’Brien’s complicated superstar was beaten a neck by Economics in the race of the season when last seen. But, with rain forecast and soft ground it’s quite unlikely he’ll take his place.

Mqse De Sevigne 20-1

This mare, also trained by the legendary Fabre, is a five-times Group 1 winner. But she’s yet to run over a mile and a half, although her handler reckons she’s got all the stamina.

Continuous 25-1

O’Brien’s four-year-old finished fifth in this race last year and only managed third in a Group 2 here most recently.

Fantastic Moon 25-1

The German hope is unlikely to be as fantastic as his name suggests. He wasn’t disgraced in the Arc last year, travelling well only to fade late on. He won a Group 1 when last seen in Germany but needs to find a new gear as a four-year-old.

Opera Singer 25-1

This year’s Nassau Stakes winner at Goodwood is unlikely to be on the pitch this weekend as chances are Aidan O’Brien will head to Ascot for Champions Day later this month.

Sunway 40-1

David Menuisier has hit the crossbar in countless Group 1 this season and deserves a win at the top level. Sunway has been there or thereabouts all year, but he’s got Some Way to go before he scores at this level.

Zarakem 40-1

Jerome Reynier’s shot finished down the field in the Juddmonte International at York earlier this season, but he has the potential to surprise, as he did at Royal Ascot when finishing a close second to Auguste Rodin in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes.

Luxembourg 50-1

The last of O’Brien’s team has four Group 1s to his name, but his previous two performances suggest he’s past is peak.

Sevenna’s Knight 50-1

Andre Fabre’s third chance has been rather a late developer, but suits a long slog in the bog. If there’s a downpour he’s worth a look at.

Survie 50-1

Trained by Nicolas Clement, the youngest trainer ever to have won the Arc, but this looks a very long shot having got nowhere near Bluestocking on her last run.

Haya Zark 66-1

Andrien Fouassier’s outsider was a 19-1 winner of the Group 1 Prix Ganay here in April but needs a huge step up in form.

Bluestocking 11-1

Ralph Beckett has confirmed Bluestocking will be supplemented at the cost of £100,000 and she couldn’t go in better form, having won over track and trip in September.

Arc de Triomphe tip

Los Angeles is worth a nibble after finishing just one and a quarter lengths behind real superstar Economics in the 1m2f Irish Champion Stakes.

Jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle reported he kept on galloping after the line and he should relish the step back up to a mile and a half on the forecast soft ground.

And at 6-1 he’s quite short priced in an open race but it’s justified.

When is the Arc?

The Arc is taking place at 3.00pm on Sunday.
