Mellberg looked considerably different from his playing days, with his hair grown out and his beard long.
Most noticeable was his casual attire on the sidelines.
The former Sweden captain wore an oversized black t shirt and matching baggy shorts which were paired with a pair of Nike sliders.
His attire was worlds away from the typical managerial suit.
Fans on X loved his casual take on management.
One fan wrote: “Forget your roll-neck jumpers and slip-on loafers. Give us more managers like Olof Mellberg.”
Another fan chimed in to say: “This is the good stuff. Dishevelled look, beach attire”
A third said: “Some defender in his day.”
