Phil Taylor RULES OUT Sky Sports job following second retirement from darts as oche icon reveals future career change

PHIL TAYLOR has ruled out a move to the commentary box for Sky Sports after his second retirement from darts.

The 16-time world champion hung up his arrows on New Year’s Day 2018 after losing the Ally Pally final to Rob Cross.

He returned to competitive darts action in 2022 to take part in the World Seniors Tour, but is yet to win a tournament.

Now the Power has decided to call it quits again.

The final event of his glittering career is set to be the World Seniors Championship from the Barbican in York this week.

And, when questioned about his post-darts career and if he would head into punditry, the 63-year-old ruled out the commentary box.

Taylor told the Weekly Dartcast: “I won’t be working with Sky, I don’t think.

“I will be working with the Seniors, that’s my plan for next year, be like their ambassador.”

Taylor has also been linked with a stint on reality TV show I’m A Celebrity – and the darts sensation did not opt against the jungle out when asked about it.

He continued: “We’ll see happens, I’m not holding my breath.

“We’ll see what happens and what the offer is or whatever.

“It’s a plus and a minus with I’m A Celebrity. Your life’s dragged through everything.

“Whether it’s worth it, I don’t know. We’ll sit down and talk about it if I get invited. It’s all ifs and buts at the moment.”

The Brit initially walked away from darts in 2018 after making the final at the PDC World Championship.

But he is set to enter his final tournament as the number three seed in the World Seniors Championship campaign, against Manfred Bilderl on Friday night.
