PHIL JONES’ Manchester United career is drawing to a close after this season.
And 12 years after his exit from Blackburn Rovers to join Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, Jones is now tipped to make a dramatic return to Ewood Park.

Bookmakers Betfair reckon that’s the most likely move for the 31-year-old, making that move the 2/1 favourite.
The betting market for Jones’ next move is tight though, with Bordeaux just behind at 3/1 and a move to Lancashire rivals Preston a 5/1 go.
Bolton at 6/1 come next before the potential of staying in the Premier League with Sean Dyche’s Everton rounds off the betting at 10/1.
Jones’ imminent exit from United was confirmed earlier this morning, with the defender posting an emotional farewell.
In it he addressed his highs and lows at the club but in particular his injury issues which kept him out for large spells of his time – and meaning he hasn’t featured at all this season.
He posted: “It’s been very difficult, the last couple of years. There’s no denying that. There is no hiding away from that.
“My family have been absolutely instrumental in keeping me on the straight and narrow and keeping me focused, to try to get fit and try to play more.

“And, you know, I’ve missed playing football. I missed it. You grow up playing football and all you want to do is play football.
“It’s all I’ve known, from such a young age, is to do what you love doing for a living. I’ve been fortunate enough to do that, albeit not as much as I would have liked.”
He did manage 229 Man Utd appearances in his 12 years, comfortably less than the figure it would’ve imagined he’d hit when signing for £17million back in 2011.
But at just 31, it could be that he has plenty of years of football ahead of him and Betfair reckon that could be with former club Blackburn.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Phil Jones’ 12-year Man United career has come to an end having made just five senior appearances in the last three seasons following long-term injuries.
“Former club Blackburn are the 2/1 favourites to re-sign the defender, while Lancashire rivals Preston (5/1) and Premier League giants Everton (10/1) are also possible destinations ahead of the 2023/24 season.”
