Nottingham Forest star grabs Bruno Fernandes by the THROAT but dodges red card leaving Man Utd fans fuming

NOTTINGHAM FOREST defender Felipe escaped a red card despite grabbing Bruno Fernandes around the throat.

Manchester United fans were left fuming by the incident during their FA Cup victory at the City Ground on Wednesday night.

Felipe dodged further punishment after a heated altercation with Fernandes in stoppage time, despite VAR being in operation.

Reacting to the incident on X, one fan wrote: “The @FA_PGMOL have confirmed players are now allowed to grab opponents around the throat.”

Another angry supporter simply added: “Complete joke.”

A third also commented: “Casemiro would have got a six match ban for that.”

Meanwhile, one more fumed: “Remember Casemiro being sent off for exactly the same thing.”

The Brazilian was dismissed for grabbing Will Hughes’ neck during a brawl involving players from both sides.

However, he endured a better evening on Wednesday as he grabbed a dramatic late winner.

Fernandes set up Casemiro to score his fifth goal of the season in the 89th minute.

The 1-0 win sees United into the FA Cup quarter-finals for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons.

They will have to overcome Carabao Cup winners Liverpool to reach the last four, though.

The quarter-final draw has pitted the two rivals against each other in a mouth-watering clash at Old Trafford.
