Arsenal were left fuming after their 2-0 home defeat to West Ham on Thursday when the Czech Republic star’s controversial strike was given.

The goal took VAR three minutes and 22 seconds as officials checked if the ball had gone out of play before Jarrod Bowen passed to Soucek to score.

Several replays were unable to show definitive proof as Bowen’s body blocked the ball from the main camera angle.

The camera from the opposite side of the pitch was also no use and that meant VAR advised the referee to stick with his on-pitch decision, which was a goal.

Arsenal also suffered a similar fate in their 1-0 defeat at Newcastle earlier this season – an incident that sparked a meltdown from Mikel Arteta who brandished the officials “embarrassing” for allowing the goal to stand.

However, beIN SPORTS were assessing the goal during their coverage of the weekend’s Premier League action and they believe that they have settled the dispute once-and-for-all.

They provided a new shot, using the technology at their disposal, to show that the ball was still in play by millimetres.

And even though that appeared to put an end to the argument, it almost started a complete new one.

After the clip was shared on social media, one fan responded: “Why can BeIN Sports do this but the billion pound Premier League: ‘Doesn’t have the technology’ and therefore cant…..”

Another commented: “So it begs the question why does the richest league in the world not use this system? They use it in the Saudi Pro league after all.”

While a third added: “So why the cant the richest league the most exciting league as they keep telin us get the technology for this?”
