Moment baffled England fan in Germany finds mystery supporter snoozing in his hotel bed – no one knows how he got there

TWO footy fans were left stunned after returning to their hotel room and finding a sleeping Three Lion’s fan in their bed.

Lewis Phillips and Sam Mockridge were staying in a hotel after attending the England vs Denmark match – only to find a fellow fan had occupied their room.

The hilarious clip shows the random man lying down as Lewis points at him, saying “he’s in my bed” before the friends start laughing.

The sleeping lion can be seen sat up and fast asleep in what looks to be a drunken slumber, still fully clothed with shoes on.

As the stranger wakes up, he gives Lewis and Sam a thumbs up followed by a limp high five.

Despite finding the fan “fast asleep and snoring”, the blokes found the humour in the situation, even offering him their floor to sleep on when he woke up.

Lewis said: “I wouldn’t have liked to see him out on the street with no hotel to go to.

“I imagine he was a guest at the hotel because he wouldn’t have gone in the hotel otherwise. How he got in there I do not know.

“He said ‘nah it’s alright’. He didn’t make much sense. He opened the door and walked out. I asked him where he was staying and he couldn’t really answer me. I thought ‘right, I’m going to bed’.”

In a bid to identify the stranger, Lewis shared footage on X, formerly Twitter, captioning the post: “This gave me and my mate good laugh”.

The hilarious vid has since gone viral with 2.3 million views.

One of the lads says he was “100% sure” the door was locked before heading out, leaving them both surprised upon their return where it was not only unlocked but occupied too.

One of the lads claimed the hotel’s policy required the men to hand over their keys to reception every time they left the building, making the room mix-up even more of a mystery.

Lewis said: “We had gotten the key from the reception then went upstairs and put the key in the door. It wouldn’t turn.

“We thought ‘that’s funny, it’s unlocked’. We pushed the door open and I saw a pair of feet on my bed.

“I always double check locking doors. Always. I double checked this lock and my mate said it was locked.

“The hotel had no clue how he got in. They were trying to say that we left the door unlocked. But I didn’t.

“I 100% locked that door I know I did. The cleaners had gone back in so they could’ve left the door unlocked.”

Sam admitted the friends were “lucky” not to have their belongings stolen, but had no concerns after they realised the man was a Lions fan.

He said: “As soon as we knew he was an England football fan we thought he was alright.

“We were really lucky. It could’ve been a lot worse. It’s laughable now but looking back we had money, passports and everything in there.”

Many social media users praised the response of the football fans to discovering the stranger.

A third user said: “Class lads.”

It remains a mystery to the pals how the stranger managed to get into their room and, once he wandered off, they never saw him again.
