It was Arsenal’s fourth Premier League clean sheet this season after already not conceding against Crystal Palace, Everton and Bournemouth.

Keown was left especially proud of the his team’s defending as they shut out the Treble winners and goal machine Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian didn’t manage a shot in the game and was limited to just 23 touches.

William Saliba won all of his duels, did not commit a foul, was not dribbled past and finished the game with a 97 per cent passing accuracy.

After the win and bust-up between the two sides, Arteta joined Keown on TV channel SuperSport for a post-match interview.

The pundit heaped praise on centre-back duo Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes for their ability to keep Haaland quiet.

He said: “I just want to say, by the way, the two central defenders – as an ex-central defender for Arsenal – they were immense today.

“And it’s not often you can say that because he’s a wonderful player.

“But they were physically top-class, if you want to pass that on to them.”

Arteta nodded in agreement with Keown, saying “yes” multiple times.

The boss then replied: “When you see them around, please tell them. I will pass the message on.”

Saliba has since withdrawn from the France squad with a toe injury.
