He is yet to find a new club, but according to The Daily Mail, Salford and Stockport have expressed an interest.

Both clubs are understood to be monitoring his progress.

Williams joined Man Utd‘s academy at the age of nine in 2008 and gradually progressed through the age groups.

He eventually left the club to join Shrewsbury in January 2019 after making 57 appearances for the Under-21’s.

The defender spent two years at New Meadow and made 97 appearances across all competitions.

Williams became close friends with Man Utd star Marcus Rashford during his time at the club’s academy.
