Man Utd ratings: Casemiro’s introduction injects life into Red Devils but Weghorst looks like competition winner

The Hammers failed to capitalise on their chances, with Michail Antonio being denied by David de Gea twice.

Said Benrahma did manage to give the away side the leas though, albeit in controversial fashion.
The Algerian wizard waved his wand and whipped the ball into the top right corner after United stopped playing after believing the ball went out of play.
West Ham failed to capitalise and Erik ten Hag tinkered his team.
On came the big guns and momentum swung in their favour.
A Nayef Aguerd own goal got United back on level terms before Alejandro Garnacho put the Red Devils ahead before stoppage time.
Fred then sealed the win having climbed off the bench late on.
United continue to fight for the FA Cup, and are in the hunt for the Premier League and Europa League.

Pulled off a string of fine stops, but didn’t have a prayer against Benrahma’s controversial strike.
Diogo Dalot – 5
Hugely improved this season but one of those left standing for West Ham’s goal.
Victor Lindelof – 5
Lucky to get away with it when Soucek outjumped him. No shock when he was eventually replaced by Martinez.
Harry Maguire – 5
Pointed a lot, lunged a little, which earned a card. At times looked as rusty as the tin man.
Tyrell Malacia – 6
By far United’s best defender, which wasn’t saying a great deal given how the others performed.
Marcel Sabitzer – 5
One snapshot drew a fine save from Areola and covered a lot of ground, but no more than adequate.
Scott McTominay – 6
Determined to make his mark – in every way. A driving force but hooked at half time.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Given licence to roam, but some way off his best. Never stamped his presence on things.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7
Lively down the left, especially in the second half, and got his reward with that late winner.
Wout Weghorst – 4 United’s worst
Missed an absolute sitter. Luckily for him he was offside. Starting to look like a competition winner.
Antony – 5
Curled one early effort over, but frustratingly rarely takes his man on. Allegedly also has a right foot. Hooked.

Had an equaliser rightly ruled out for offside, but his introduction did inject some life into United.

Off the bench when West Ham went ahead, but the damage had been done.

Thrown on to rescue it, and did perk things up, but starting to look a little weary.
