Man Utd fans depressed by Jermaine Jenas’ comment before Newcastle clash as they moan ‘this shows how far we’ve fallen’
JERMAINE JENAS’ analysis of Manchester United’s clash with Newcastle has left their fans depressed.
The Red Devils travelled to St. James’ Park on Saturday night looking to close the gap to the top four.
Jermaine Jenas suggested Manchester United could cause an upsetGetty
Former Newcastle midfielder Jenas appeared as a pundit during TNT Sports’ coverage of the match.
Speaking ahead of kick-off, he suggested United could cause an upset by beating their hosts.
Reacting to his comments on social media, one fan wrote: “Did Jermaine Jenas say we could cause an ‘upset’?”
Another added: “F*** me. Shows how far we have fallen.”
United have not beaten Newcastle in the Premier League since September 2021.
Meanwhile, their last visit to St. James’ Park back in April ended in a 2-0 loss.
Newcastle also dumped the Red Devils out of the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
A win for United would see Erik ten Hag’s side move up to fifth and within a point of the top four.

However, defeat would be another blow to their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Newcastle would instead leapfrog their opponents into fifth and extend their unbeaten home run in the league to six matches.
