Man Utd fans cry ‘ex-Ajax player again… what is this life?’ as Erik ten Hag’s next transfer target is revealed

ERIK TEN HAG looks set to turn to an old face again in the transfer market – leaving fans fuming.

The Dutchman will be in charge next season after a managerial fiasco that ended with United opting to stick with Ten Hag.

And now the manager is getting to work with potential additions to strengthen his squad.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are looking to sign a new midfielder with Casemiro likely to leave.

And Mexico captain Edson Alvarez is believed to be an option under consideration for Ten Hag.

Alvarez is currently with West Ham having joined the Hammers in 2023 from Ajax – where he spent three seasons with Ten Hag.

It is not the first time Ten Hag has signed a former Ajax star – leaving fans predicting deja vu.

One said: “Ex Ajax player again. What is this life.”

Another added: “Ten hag’s obsession with Ajax will be the end of us.”

Although one argued: “Alvarez is a good player to be fair.”

Ten Hag paid £86million for winger Antony, one of his best players during his time with Ajax.

But the Brazilian has struggled with life in England and only has 11 goals in his 82 United appearances.

Antony faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford as the club look to shift on players in the summer window.
