Man City Will Tear Real Madrid Apart – Says Ex-Chelsea Player After UCL Exit
Former English player, Jason Cundy, has predicted ‘doom’ for Real Madrid after they sent Chelsea out of the ongoing Champions League campaign.
Naija News understands that Madrid ended Chelsea’s hope of becoming UCL champions this season after a 5-4 win by aggregate on Tuesday night.
Last night’s victory sends Madrid through to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Trailing 3-1 from the first leg at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel’s side needed an effort to make a comeback and reach the semi-finals.
The Blues came so close to achieving their dream, scoring three goals through Mason Mount, Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner.
Chelsea had already earned the hope and was at the helm of another famous victory before Madrid found a way to scrape their way through.
Having held Madrid to 1-3 in full time, the luck slipped away from Chelsea as Karim Benzema slot in a header to reclaim victory for Real Madrid by aggregate.
Reacting during an interview, Cundy who happens to be a Chelsea legend feels that the LaLiga giants cannot withstand Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City if they meet in the semi-final of the Champions League.
Naija News understands that Manchester City would today play against Atletico Madrid.
Scaling through the tough side will determine if City will eventually meet with Madrid in the next stage of the competition.
“Chelsea did have chances to win. They [Real Madrid] were shocking and Man City will tear them apart.
“Chelsea scored four against them and were desperately unlucky with the Marcos Alonso goal as well.
“You can’t complain as they are the laws.
“They got away with one tonight, Real Madrid. They didn’t start playing until their first goal of the game, that changed the game a little bit,” Cundy noted last night.
