Man City Beat United 4-1, Top EPL With Six Points

Sunday’s Manchester Derby was devastating for Ralf Rangnick’s side, losing 4-1 to Pep Guardiola’s city.

Manchester City are now six points ahead of rival, Liverpool, though with a game in hand for the Reds.

Naija News understands that Jadon Sancho had given the Red Devils a beam of hope after scoring an equaliser in the first half which ended 2-1.

United’s best was, however, not enough as Guardiola’s boys made the Etihad Stadium unconducive for the visitors.

Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both scored twice, creating a 22-point gap between the clubs.

The defeat is another blow to United’s chances of just qualifying for the Champions League next season, Naija News understands.

The Red Devils now trail Arsenal by a point in fourth, who also have three games in hand.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has shed more light on circumstances surrounding the departure of former club captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Barcelona.

The Arsenal boss said the Gabonese international’s departure from the Emirates Stadium as a free agent in January was not a decision taken by a single person.

According to Arteta, three parties – Arsenal, Barcelona, and Aubameyang himself played critical roles in making the transfer happen.

We always make decisions in the best interests of the club and to get the best performances from the team.

“We made that decision as three parties. One was the club, one was Auba, and the other was Barcelona. The three of us believed it was the right thing to do,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
