Major sporting name reported to cops over ‘plot to drug his ex-partner’

A HOUSEHOLD name sports star has been reported to cops over an alleged plot to drug his ex-partner.

The famous name is reportedly the subject of a number of criminal claims after fresh information was passed onto police by his former partner.

A source told MailOnline: “The ex has accused him of plotting to drug them.

“One time after they met up they woke up with no memory of the night before.

“It is a very serious accusation and has only come to light recently.”

The alleged conspiracy is also understood to involve two accomplices.

The ex, who cannot be named, has specifically accused him of conspiring to “maliciously administering, or causing to be administering poison or a noxious substance”.

Lawyers representing them reportedly told police that this involved trying to spike their drink.

While they did not specify what substance was used, they believe it may have been some form of date rape drug.

However, there is no suggestion that any rape or sexual assault took place.

The alleged offences are understood to have taken place in 2018 and can carry a prison sentence of up to five years.

It is understood that the accuser was unaware of the alleged crimes at the time but was later told of them by a third party, according to the Daily Telegraph.

There have been no arrests and none of those involved have been questioned.

A spokesperson for the police force sent the information told MailOnline that they were unable to confirm or deny the media reports.
