LUKE Littler has been told he can help his beloved rugby league side to glory – and not just by cheering them on.

The darts sensation has been offered the chance to train alongside the Warrington Wolves team he watches from the South Stand terrace.

Luke Littler’s darts exploits can help Warrington towards Super League glory, says boss Sam BurgessWARRINGTON WOLVES

And new boss Sam Burgess believes the 17-year-old’s impact on the oche can pass over to the 13-a-side code as he looks to end a 69-year wait for a title.

He said after meeting Littler as he posed on the pitch for a photo with the new star: “Luke’s been a revelation and it’s been great.

“He came to training last week and I’m going to try and get him in to do some. I’ve offered it to him but he’s a lot going on – his world’s going to be spinning for a bit.

Luke’s got belief in himself and I like that he’s got no fear – he just attacks it and that’s probably a good lesson for a lot of people.

“He doesn’t second guess himself. He just goes out, has a go and tries his best. It’s probably a good lesson, especially for athletes.

“He’s out there having fun early in his career. I’m sure he’ll get challenged at some point but if he just goes back to this time, I’m sure he’ll be all right.

“Luke’s really inspired the town and it’s brilliant. The boys love their darts. We’ve bought about five or six sets already.”

Burgess, who starred for England in both rugby codes, launches his coaching career with a friendly against Widnes.

But he is already looking ahead to a potential reunion with younger brother, England and South Sydney star Tom, in 2025.

Sam added: “I’d love to coach him and he’d be great for the club. He’s still got a lot to offer and is getting better with age.

“If I can afford him it’ll be nice.”
