Luke Littler, 16, achieves stunning feat not even darts legend Phil Taylor could do in epic Ally Pally semi-final win
LUKE LITTLER made World Darts Championship history in a monumental evening at Ally Pally.
The 16-year-old beat Rob Cross 6-2 to book his spot in the final – on his tournament debut.

And while doing so he achieved a huge average of 106.05.
Only three men in history have averaged higher in a World Championship semi-final.
Gary Anderson recorded an average of 107.32 in the 2016 semi-final, while Michael van Gerwen – who was knocked out of this year’s tournament by Scott Williams on Monday – managed slightly higher with 108.28 in 2016.
Raymond van Barneveld averaged 109.34 in 2017, but that was trumped by Van Gerwen who recorded a whopping 114.05 in the same round.
Littler even managed a higher semi-final average than darts legend Phil Taylor.
Despite losing the opening set in his clash with Cross, Littler kept his cool to bounce back and take the next three.
Cross managed to make the score 3-2, but his teenage opponent pushed on to seal the win.
After the match, Littler told Sky Sports: “I have no words, it’s just crazy, that I’m in a World Championship final on my debut.

“I was happy winning one game but I could go all the way.
“My target was to still be here after Christmas and now here I am in the final.
“I’ve just settled on the stage – once I find the rhythm, I’m good to go.”
