Las Vegas Raiders head coach updates – Josh McDaniels and GM David Ziegler fired as Antonio Pierce takes on interim role
THE Las Vegas Raiders have parted ways with head coach Josh McDaniels and GM David Ziegler.
In a statement shared on Tuesday night, the Vegas-based club confirmed Antonio Pierce will take on the role of interim head coach as the search for McDaniels’ replacement continues.
“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” owner Mark Davis said.
“I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.”
McDaniels signed a six-year contract less than two years ago and has now become the first non-interim coach in the Super Bowl era to be fired by two franchises before the end of his second year.
