Kyprios can be Cup king again as Goodwood Festival kicks off
CLASSY Kyprios will have too much staying power in the Goodwood Cup.
Kyprios’ win in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot shows he’s still a high-class stayer and the pick in the division.

He’s 10lb clear on Timeform’s ratings for the Goodwood Cup and should regain the crown he won in a much stronger race in 2022.
He’s understandably going to be a very short price, but one with strong claims on the figures who is available at much longer odds is Executive Decision in the fillies’ handicap (5.55) that concludes the card.
Executive Decision ended last season out of form and she has come up short on her three outings this year.
That said, her last couple of efforts – when finishing fourth at Epsom and Ascot – have been more promising and she looks to be coming back to the boil.
She is now only 3 lb higher in the weights than when winning this race last season and is 3 lb lower than the mark she last defied at Chepstow last August.
She is clearly lurking on a dangerous mark and is 3 lb clear at the head of Timeform’s figures.
Kinross is bidding to win the Lennox Stakes for a third time and he top of the Timeform pops by 1 lb.
Kinross, who has also finished runner-up in the Lennox, was below his best when down the field in the July Cup but he will be suited by stepping back up to seven furlongs here and he clearly copes well with this undulating and tricky course.
Fair Wind is also a course-and-distance winner and he looks the one to beat in the five-furlong handicap (4.10).
After winning here in May he was a respectable fourth at Thirsk and then raised his game to win at Ascot 17 days ago, impressing with the good turn of foot he found to quicken into the lead and score by a cosy half-length.
That form has been boosted by the runner-up Albasheer winning subsequently and the progressive Fair Wind still looks fairly treated off a 4 lb higher mark – he tops Timeform’s ratings by 1 lb.
