Kylian Mbappe scores twice for France including stunning wondergoal to make Holland boss Koeman eat his words

Mbappe, 24, put France in front after just seven minutes with a powerful volley goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen could have kept out.
But there was no saving Mbappe’s second strike as he proved why he is a contender for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The PSG forward played a lighting fast one-two with Adrien Rabiot just outside the box after initially receiving the ball on the left flank.
In one swift movement he created time and space to line up a shot from distance, which he executed perfectly.
With the ball still bouncing he guided it over Verbruggen’s head and into the back of the net to double France’s lead.
In doing so Mbappe made Dutch boss Koeman eat his words after he taunted him over his poor performance in PSG’s defeat to Newcastle.
Asked about the importance of the France match, Koeman said: “The highest possible achievement is to win.
“I recently saw Newcastle United against PSG in the Champions League and Kylian Mbappe also participated.”

However the Netherlands may not be joining them there thanks to Greece’s 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, who are now three points ahead of the Dutch having played a game more.
