He lost over five rounds by decision – but later revealed he was fighting through immense pain.
Segawa took to Instagram to show off his eye-wateringly bruised left leg, which followed after the tear.
He wrote: “Thank you for all the comments and messages. I’m encouraged by everyone’s words.
“I would be happy if my fight gave someone the strength to live. Super Rec players were really strong.
“I tore a muscle in my thigh, and now I can’t walk or think about anything, but I’m determined to keep moving forward.
“I’ll take a little break, figure out the answer myself, and report back. Thank you very much for all your support.”
Segawa’s legs were brutalised by Superlek throughout the bout and he gave an emotional post-fight speech following the loss.
He tearfully said: “I wanted to win and prove that I was the best in the world.

“I wanted to give strength to everyone, to the fans that have supported me and watched the pay-per-view.
“I wanted to give you all power but I gave it my all and reached my body’s limits and breaking point.
“I wanted to win and make everyone proud. I pushed myself like my life depended on it.
“It’s a difficult time with the earthquake (in Tokyo) and other things happening and I know people may be struggling.
“I wanted to give strength to those people by showing everyone that you can get through it if you work hard.
“But this is the limit of what I can do. I can’t be stronger than this.”
