Sat next to Aston Villa fan and fellow movie star Tom Hanks, Roberts was asked about her love of United.
Revealing they were her favourite team, she was met with a chorus of boos from the audience.
However, she hit back by responding: “Oh, come on! Come on! You won’t detour me.”
Roberts continued: “I’ve been to Old Trafford. Yeah, I’m a true fan.”
Pictures were also shown of the Pretty Woman star alongside Marcus Rashford and Erik ten Hag, who even presented her with a personalised shirt.
Explaining how she became a football fan, Roberts added: “I have three children.
“When they were really little and started playing soccer, started watching it on TV, and I didn’t ever realise how exciting it was to watch it on television.
“We just got so it it and somehow just Manchester United became our, our team, the motor family team, our team. And we became sort of possessed.”
