Jockey Chelsey Reynolds in ‘critical condition’ after she is flown to hospital following horror training accident
A HORSE RACING jockey has been airlifted to hospital after an incident in training.
Apprentice Chelsey Reynolds, 21, has been injured following a horror fall and is in a critical condition in hospital.

It is understood Reynolds suffered serious head injuries after falling from her horse.
She is being treated at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, South Australia.
Racing South Australia released a statement which reads: “Racing SA can confirm an incident at trackwork this morning on the Fleurieu Peninsula involving apprentice jockey Chelsey Reynolds.
“Chelsey is being treated at the Flinders Medical Centre.
“We are providing support to Chelsey’s family and will provide an update on her condition as soon as we are able.”
Reynolds raced as recently as last Friday and last week was named best first year apprentice at Racing SA’s Apprentice Awards.
She has seven career wins in 52 races, and has placed in nine of those.
Last month, another apprentice jockey Kelsey Hannan was airlifted to hospital after falling at Strathalbyn Racecourse, south-east of Adelaide.
She was placed in an induced coma after losing consciousness following the incident.
Hannan suffered a fracture in her neck vertebrae and is still recovering from injuries.
She updated fans on her condition, saying: “Hey everyone! Thank you for all the messages.
“I’m awake now with a fractured C1 vertebrae, could have been a lot worse! Appreciate all the love xx.”
